High Speed Meglev train, another first for Buffalo?

The mission of Novan R&D is to push creative imagination
into the realm of future technology.

Future Technology - A small Buffalo, NY research company announced today that it would like to build a link between Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Toronto, Canada. Novan Research & Development Co. has designed an overhead high speed meglev train system that its CEO says has the technology to do the job safely and economically. The concept of this system is an overhead lightweight magnetic levitated train capable of high speed in any type of weather, including icy conditions.

The high speed meglev system will use existing highway and rail right of ways to keep costs down - plus a novel anchoring system for crossing the lake. Being an elevated dedicated system it would not have to compete with the slower ground level transportation systems by speeding along above them. It would be impervious to most weather conditions.

The train's center of gravity is below its track allowing it to swing out and remain stable on curves with no fear of derailing regardless of its speed or the weather. Its levitating magnets are located out of range of passengers so there is no danger of them receiving magnetic radiation.

One type roadway support being considered for the meglev train would be a suspension bridge type so that the towers can be widely spaced over land or water. The rail tube from which the train is suspended would be attached to the main cable by vertical hanger cables. Being a relatively light weight train the supports would require a much smaller load bearing capacity then a regular suspension bridge.

If these new concepts were implemented it could be another major "first" for Buffalo, "the City of Innovation". Buffalo had the first long distant alternating current system in the world designed by Nikola Tesla between Buffalo and Niagara Falls - now the whole world is powered by this type of AC electrical transmission system.

If the necessary research and development does occur for this project and the meglev train becomes a commercial success this meglev system could develop into a game changing multibillion dollar worldwide market and offer a major profit potential to its developers and investors.
